Description

Are you ready for a killer work out? If so, the Great Horned Owl Trail is the place to begin. Along the 3+ mile trail, visitors will be greeted with many steep ascents. These are followed shortly by descents that will allow hikers to catch their breath. Especially if you take this one counter-clockwise, you'll want to leave a bit of gas in the tank, because there is a pretty steep climb at the end.

If you haven't had enough hills for one day, you can take the Union Peak Trail to climb a short summit trail to reach sweeping views of the area and the Deer Valley Airport.

Flora & Fauna

Many prickly area plants line the trail, and if you keep your eyes peeled, you might be able to see lizards and other basking in the sun.
