“A wide open trail, with plenty of rock formations to look at.”

A very gentle route with little to no elevation gain, and tons of rocks to climb off the trail.
Description
From the North Prong Parking lot, this is a very straight forward and easy trail. You'll find yourself traveling mostly on a dirt path rather than singletrack. The signage for this trail is very consistent and the trail is easy to follow. I would highly suggest using the North Prong Primitive site if camping in Caprock. It's only about a mile into the trail and can be a little less crowded than South Prong. All in all, this is a good trail for kids and a nice connector to other trails.
