A short, steep trail to a peaceful lake perched across from the Stevens Pass Resort.

James Herzog

Features Birding · Lake · Views

Family Friendly Great place for kids to go sledding near the bottom of the trail while other family members are skiing at the resort.

Description

After parking in the lot across from the Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, start making your way up a trail near some workers' lodgings. This steep trail will challenge you, but stop for rest and turn around to view the pass and a fresh view of the resort activities. Look for the left hand turn to the Lake about 3/4 of the way up or continue to the Skyline Ridge and double back. A small but beautiful lake awaits after a level jaunt through an airy forest. Skirt the north side of the lake and continue up to another point for a panoramic view of the pass and the Wellington/Tye Rd. area below.

This route is an excellent choice for a winter snowshoe adventure!
