Overview
This gentle loop trail provides an excellent spot for all visitors to get a little way off the beaten path. The pressed gravel surface makes navigation possible and easy for all visitors, and the surrounding beauty can't be beat.
Description
The Limberlost Trail is a fully accessible trail with a pressed gravel surface. Located at milepost 43, it is a circuit hike of 1.3 miles. It passes through forest and mountain laurel. This trail is especially beautiful in June during Spring bloom. On the hike, you'll cross a boardwalk and bridge. Benches are also located throughout the trail for a tranquil rest and time to enjoy your surroundings.
The trail is gently rolling as it winds through dense vegetation. The way is shaded and pleasant, and all visitors will appreciate the beauty of the area.
Flora & Fauna
When everything blooms in June, this trail is home to beautiful mountain laurel. Black bears have also been seen frequently along Limberlost.
