“A breathtaking trail that takes you from dense forest to uninterrupted views from the summit.”— Nate Jones
The trail starts out at a gentle incline through dense forest. There are occasional creeks, rocks, and roots so keep your eyes open. As the forest thins out, the views only get better. There are many glaciers and glacial lakes that you can get a breathtaking view of from the trail. The forest completely thins out, and you have an easy hike before you reach the major climb of the trail to the summit. There are many switchbacks here and you should be ready for a drop in temperature as you wind your way up the mountain.
Once you reach the top of Siyeh Pass, you'll have breathtaking views of Mt Siyeh. The view goes uninterrupted between mountains for miles. As you start your descent, you can catch a glimpse of St Mary Lake. The descent is steep so be careful on your way down. With a mile or two left of the trail, you'll come upon several small waterfalls. This is a great place to take a peaceful rest and take in some beautiful views before you finish your hike. The trail follows the river for a while and there are some spectacular views of the mountains.
When the trail ends on Going-To-The-Sun Road, you can catch a shuttle to you next destination or back to St Mary's for a well-deserved meal in on of the great restaurants located in town.
