This trail begins at Mt. Pinos Peak and generally descends on switchbacks to Cerro Noroeste (Mt. Abel). Along the way, you'll experience views of the plains and the southern Sierras.

In addition to views, snow can be found on the trails all the way to mid-Spring, which can completely cover sections of the trail. Make sure to have a map (or the Hiking Project mobile app and a charged phone) and compass if attempting prior to full snowmelt.

Moderate trail with great views, however, if you hike as RT, be aware of the strenuous section returning to the wildlife viewing area.
