When the trail turns away from Bayshore Road, the trail turns back to gravel as it makes its way into the marshlands along Matadero Creek.
Rabbits can be seen along the trail if you keep your eyes peeled. They'll take off when they hear you coming.

Pelicans, along with other species of birds, rest in Adobe Creek. While they are sleeping and resting here, you can see them flying around as they hunt throughout the day.
When the trail reaches Bayshore Road, the trail is concrete and runs along the highway for a short distance before heading back into the marshlands.
The trail is made up of decomposed granite and crushed oyster shells and makes its way along the edge of the marsh. The trail, shared by bikers, hikers, and runners, is wide enough for 2 people to pass each other, but that's about it.
A pelican flies above Adobe Creek as it goes out to look for food.
