Deer feed in the fields alongside the trail. In the evenings and mornings, animal can be seen feeding in the fields.
Hikers can be seen on the Ridgeview Trail, which runs parallel to the Sunset Trail on the hillside above.
Views of the San Francisco Bay can be seen from the saddle where the Live Oak Trail meets up with the Ridgeview Trail.
