Acidic red sediment from Anakeesta rock washes into the Road Prong. The acidic nature of the red sediment could cause problems for the aquatic life that make their home there. This is the result of the landslides, mud slides, and log jams that have happened in this area.

Heading up the Road Prong Trail.
The higher elevations and the shade can allow you the opportunity to walk through the snow even though the trail is clear at lower elevations.
