It's incredible what the sun will do at sunset on Lake Michigan. This painting of the underside of the clouds happens a couple times a year.

The shelf ice along Lake Michigan can form into huge piles of ice! It's hard to believe that sunbathers and swimmers will replace the ice in a few short months. This photo was taken a short walk to the east from the Lakeview parking lot.
