Linville River feeding into Lake James to the south.
The decaying tree around halfway up the Shortoff Mountain Trail. It reminds me of the Jeffery pine that was once atop Sentinel Dome.
I awoke to one of the most beautiful views the first morning of our hike. I sat in the hammock and took it all in as I watched the sun rise over the horizon!
Hanging out on Shortoff Mountain. Tablerock Mountain (which looks like a nose) can be seen among the clouds in the distance.
