Giant Black Sand Dunes [Suggest Edits]

Description

This is a giant inland sand dune. It is made up of New Zealand West Coast black sand and can get very hot, but you can sand surf on a boogie board down the dunes straight into the Wainamu Lake where you can also go swimming if you need to cool off.

Short Walk: Park at the Bethells Beach car park and hike up the shallow river or over the dune to Wainamu Lake.

Family Friendly: There is a shallow lake for swimming, and everyone will have great fun sliding down the dunes.
