Description
The reconstructed cabins give a sense of how hard conditions were in camp as the soldiers fought disease, starvation, and weather. 12 or more soldiers lived in each hut, sleeping in cramped bunks. The cabins were built within days of the army's arrival in Valley Forge. It is said that Washington devised a contest to see who could build them the fastest.
On the Road: Just a short walk away from a parking area off of N Outer Line Drive.
Family Friendly: Kids can go into the huts and talk with re-enactors/volunteers who answer questions and explain what life was like for the soldiers. There are rebuilt redoubts and embankment fortifications nearby.
