Matanuska Greenbelt Trails

Overview

This area consists of rolling, gentle hills owned by three main landowners and maintained by agencies and volunteers. Trail types vary. Right now, the area is undergoing a number of changes—a new parking lot for Farm, removal of Johnson Lake Loop, a reroute of Farm-College Connector, and some other changes. The best place to keep abreast of these changes is on the website (address for the email list is at bottom of page) and FB for Matanuska Greenbelt and Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center (the most current map can be found here).

A trails plan is being developed with the assistance of RTCA to formalize the trail system's setup.
