Need to Know

Parking and restrooms are located in the main parking area for the mill and General Store. The Murray and Minges General Store is open seven days a week and offers a variety of drinks, snacks and local goods including pickles, bbq sauce, fresh bread, handmade soaps, woodworking, and more. If the store is closed a portajohn is located next to the store.

Description

This natural surface trail begins behind the big white barn and goes through the terraced field towards the woods. Under the tree canopy the trail runs beside one of the feeder creeks for the mill pond. Just before leaving the woods it turns to the left and crosses a wooden bridge.

Out of the woods, the trail turns to the right and follows the edge of the farmer's field. Crops vary by year, including corn, wheat, and soybeans. Please do not trample the crops. When the trail reaches Shiloh Rd it continues left along the fence line to connect on the opposite side of the field with the Murray's Mill Pond Loop Trail.

Flora & Fauna

Local wildlife includes groundhogs, muskrats, song birds, hawks, turkey vultures, and others.
