Description

Great views of the wetlands, bridges designed by a local artist, shelter with benches, and information kiosks about local railroad history. The mostly flat, crushed limestone trail was built on the roadbed of the former Rock Island Railroad.

The 1.4 mile trail goes between the North access to Jefferson County Park on 32nd Street and the 3-mile bikeway to Libertyville on 223rd Street. The trail intersects with the Fairfield Loop Trail about 0.4 miles west from the entrance on 32nd Street. There is one hill after you cross the creek, approaching 223rd Street.
