Family Friendly There is one pavilion on the trail (rentable) and one near it. There are bathrooms at the beginning of the trail and near the middle.

Need to Know

Parking is fee, a gate to the upper park close at dark.

Description

The trail begins with a short climb and then a right turn ( follow the orange markers). After a little hike you'll come to an old cemetery. Nothing scary, just an old wooden fence surrounding a tree and several stone markers. You'll continue on the trail, cross a paved handicapped accessible trail and come to a bench. At this bench you'll find the "painted rocks". People have left messages and pictures on the rocks. Be careful with small children, this is part of a cliff that drops off quickly to the river below.

You'll continue on the trail and come to an upper parking lot and the rentable pavilion. Continue down the mountain, following along the fence. Another mountain bike trail will be to your right. Once you see the orange marker pointing to the right (near another bench). you'll see a path that branches, straight and one the goes down hill. Take the straight path. After a little hike you'll come to a marker, go right toward the bathrooms and cross the road.

To complete the trail follow the orange markers. Along the way your will find an bench, several intersections from the other trail and finally finish along a seasonal creek.

Flora & Fauna

Wildflowers, trees, hardwood and soft, squirrels, rabbits, a snake or two, tree frogs and a lizard or two.Occasionally a tug boat pushing barges.
