Need to Know

The park usually has an entrance fee of $2, but it is currently waived. Restrooms are out of order.

Description

The Creek Bottom Trail (pink) offers an alternate approach to the Ravine and Bear Creek Trails. It starts at the restroom building and travels 0.3 miles through first a restored longleaf pine – wiregrass community, then along the sandy-bottom Bear Creek for which the tract is named, finally ending at the dam.

Flora & Fauna

Mosquitos were less of an issue than expected. There were a few ticks. Banana Spiders had taken over much of the trail. Plenty of mushrooms in the area. The park labels many trees and other flora.
