Need to Know

A vault toilet is available at the trailhead.

Description

This hike begins at the same trailhead as the Dinosaur Trackway Trail. The trail begins on the opposite side of the Donkey Flats Road from the trailhead parking. The trail is marked with white paint blazes. Following the trail in a counter clockwise direction will get you up in the slickrock the quickest.

Once up in the slickrock, it will look like you are up on the deck of a battleship or ocean liner. Continuing the hike, you'll completely encircle the battleship. At about 1.8 miles, you'll join up with the Handsome Cabin Boy Trail (HCB) and the J-Boy Trail to return to the trailhead. Stay to the left at the junction with each of these two trails and watch for mountain bikers.
