Description

While "just" relatively short out-and-back this trail and ultimate observation point are well worth a hikers time and energy. The trail itself is lovely with gnarly roots, groves of ferns, and some decent elevation gain to get the heart pumping.

Most of the trail is uphill with the most challenging section the last 4/10s of a mile, where the elevation gain is about 400 feet.

The fire tower itself has truly wonderful views of the Catskill Mountain Range. During the summer and fall of 2020 the viewing platform was locked, but you can still ascend over 50 feet and enjoy the view.
