Forest Road 30 is inaccessible during the winter months.

Need to Know

Please familiarize yourself with wilderness backcountry regulations before entering any wilderness areas.

Description

This trail typically starts from the parking area off Forest Road 30. The portion, north of this parking area, is mostly singletrack trail. Head north from the parking area along Forest Road 30; in a short distance, the trail enters the woods on the left. The trail winds its way through the forest until it reaches the Old Job Shelter Spur. Here, you can take a right to the shelter or a left to continue along the trail. The trail takes a left, a right (over the bridge), then a right onto the other side of the river. It passes through some fields, then follows along the edge of the Big Branch. After the wilderness boundary sign, the trail becomes a little rougher. The trail continues to its end at the AT/ LT.
