Need to Know

There is a spring around the mid-point of the trail, in a large meadow.

Description

Either direction you hike this, the climb has at least some sections that are really strenuous. Especially if climbing in the clockwise direction. The trail climbs steeply up from the Lame Horse Trail #055 through dense aspen grove and fern understory. It simply is a beautiful trail. The grades are are really steep in some spots on this end. It's all worth it, however, for the views and for the ripping descent down the other end.

Likewise, if you climb it in the counter-clockwise direction there will be some steep challenges, but it'll have its reward as well. The descent this way is shorter and steeper. There are roots and old logs and the trail surface is somewhat loamy.
