Still Tio Lane to the locals and still a great lake shore hike.

Family Friendly Flat and easy.

Closed at night. (This is Nampa). Parts of the area are open all year, others are not. Signs will alert you as to where you can and can not go (assuming vandals have not stolen them).

Description

This trail is just what is left of Tio Lane after the government took it over and deemed it a bird refuge area. There is nothing spectacular about the hike other than how utterly flat it is. Being close to town and easily accessible on both ends, it makes for a nice destination loop.

If you like wildlife and birds, this is the place to hike. This area is now the Deer Flat Wildlife Refuge. You may see otters, foxes, coyote and deer if you are stealthy. Please respect the seasonal closures for the wildlife habitat (and the hurt these people can put on your wallet if you don't).

Nice gravel path easy walk. Sometimes a bit far from the lake for good scenery. Lots of waterfowl, chukar, quail, and a couple harmless snakes. 8mi — 2h 45m
