Description

This trail is paved, but the asphalt is rather old and in some spots rather worn. Although this hike is called the Hunting Bayou Hike and Bike Trail, you won't really see the Hunting Bayou from it. For the most part, it just passes through thick forests. It does cross the bayou about a third of the way from the southeastern end of the trail. However, beyond this bayou crossing there isn't much else to be gained from the trail as it is mostly just connecting a few streets to Herman Brown Park.

The middle part of the trail is the best since you get some solid nature and can create loops with some of the other trails in the area. The western end of the trail is in open meadows which would be nice, but it also gets really close to I-90, which is very loud. The trail would be much better if it didn't get so exposed to the expressway.

The bridge over a tributary to Hunting Bayou is rather over-engineered compared to the rest of the trail system
