“Alleyrific with some technical ascents and descents.
”
As this trail leaves the ridge between Granite Basin and Lightning Creek it traverses an old burn, then descends through stands of lodgepole pine before crossing Lightning Creek.
After crossing the creek, the trail ascends a long steep ridge where it passes a small pond and intersects the Onion Valley Trail.
A large portion of Lightning Creek can be seen from this trail. High spring flows may make it impossible to cross upper Lightning Creek, so plan carefully.
