Middle Mountain Trail is where you'll reach the high point of Douthat State Park. The trail moves through the monotonous hardwood forest of Stony Run into into moss and lichen covered rocks and trees, a surreal landscape.

The majority of Middle Mountain Trail is an easy hike across a ridge through the trees. You might feel like youre hiking through a scene from Lord of the Rings.

The trail connects with Salt Stump on the far north end.
