Open from 8:00 a.m. to sundown, 365 days a year. There is a $6 entrance fee for cars, though this also gets you access to all the trails (they can give you a full map of the area), and of course swimming in the springwater and manatee viewing in the winter during cold snaps.

Description

The Scenic Trail is part of Manatee Springs State Park's 8.5 miles of trails. The trail follows an old dirt road that is level, soft, and smooth. There is a trailhead to park at at the southern end of the trail. You can connect the Scenic Trail with several other trails in the area to make for longer hikes. From the parking lot, head northwest, going straight at an intersection with a trail that parallels the main park road. Soon after, you'll stay to the right at your next intersection. If you take this short detour to the left, it eventually loops back onto the scenic trail at the next intersection. If you're lucky, you might see an armadillo!
