Description

End to end, this trail is about 3 miles and 1,400 vertical feet. It's a good trail. The lower part of the approach to this trail (Greyrock Trail #946) is relatively easy as it snakes along the river. It leaves the river after a short distance and increases in grade.

It's important to note that there are two trails from the junction to the top of Greyrock Mountain – the "Meadows" #947 (this one) and the more direct Greyrock Trail #946. The middle section on #946 gets steeper in sections while still maintaining a relatively clear trail, whereas the Meadows Trail #947 is more gradual but includes a lot of up and down through open terrain with beautiful views.

Flora & Fauna

In the meadows, you can find beautiful flowers amongst grass fields and trickling water. Don't be surprised if you see a bird, a bunny, or even a deer. This is a beautiful place and the animals love it too. NOTE: This lies in the Poudre Canyon burn area, so many of the trees have been burned, but new life has sprung back as of late.
