Family Friendly Easy access and a quiet, maze-like atmosphere.

This is a trail in Addicks Reservoir that is not maintained. Please comply with Corps of Engineer's regulations by not disturbing the ground or vegetation. Vehicles are prohibited. Please refer to the “Addicks Reservoir” page for area-wide information.

Description

This is a quiet natural surface trail through the trees. There are several entrances but the most convenient if driving is to park north of the soccer fields at Cullen Park and go south along the west side of the fields. The trail enters the trees and is well-worn and wide. The ground is relatively high and, unless there have been heavy rains recently, it is passable.

Do be prepared for mosquitoes and fire ants.

According to US Army Corps of Engineers’ records, this trail is on land that was owned by Paul Jones before appropriation for the reservoir. He owned about 50 acres here.
