Description

This trail is easy hiking on a good dirt road. The terrain is flat and wooded with occasional swampy areas. We started this trail at the end of Yaupon Trail at 5-Mile Road and looped back to 5 Mile Road. We got off the trail at the junction with the Forest Trail, but the loop continues west to connect back with 5-mile Road, just north of the Forest Trail. There are several additional trails that veer off into eastern parts of the Park, so keep up with your map, the Hiking Project mobile app, or a GPS unit to keep from straying.

The trail itself was in great shape when we took it, with very few muddy areas. It is an old logging road so not very curvy or exciting, but a great jaunt in the woods. We stopped for a picnic lunch half-way in and found some great sitting logs.

More information can be found from City of Houston website.
