Description

This is a cool route but it is not for the faint of heart. I'd have been reluctant to try it if I hadn't been with an experienced hiking group that had done it before. Those sensitive to heights or some exposure should take proper precautions or look elsewhere.

At the end of this trail, catch the El Cajon Mountain Summit Trail and go another 0.5 miles to summit El Cajon Mountain. If you set up a car shuttle, you can return on the El Cajon Mountain Summit Trail, for a total distance of 9.5 miles.
