Description

Hikers looking for a longer, more strenuous route will enjoy embarking on this newer trail. As one of the more recent additions to the park's trail network, this route retraces the path that many of this area's former residents would have traveled.

Starting near Berry Glen, it's easy to imagine the Batrel family's fruit and pie stand, which was famous for its pies during the depression era. Continuing on, the route meanders through majestic redwoods following the same path that gold miners, former presidents, and the original residents of the area, the Yuroks, took on their own journeys through the area.

This trail is a bit steeper than many of the others in the area, but to many, the challenge enhances the experience. Watch for roots on this trail, and enjoy the shaded path.
