Family Friendly Guajome Lake County Park is well maintained by the San Diego County. This popular local park features an RV/tent campground, picnic areas, and a children's playground.

Overview

A great loop of the trails at Guajome Regional Park.

Need to Know

Parking within Guajome Lake County Park is $3 per vehicle.

Description

The trails are all well-maintained. There are a number of junctions that can get a little confusing, but the park is so small that it's nearly impossible to get lost. The trail disappears around the campground, but that is so close to where you park that you can cut across the grass to get to your car.

Flora & Fauna

With water present in the dry SoCal climate there are naturally multitudes of plants and animals around the lake. Close to the water there are ducks and waterfowl galore amongst the rushes. In the more arid, gently undulating hills along the trails, you'll frequently see rabbits, ground squirrels and even the occasional snake. The county has posted signs and markers to help identify some of the many varieties of flora which spans the gamut of marsh grasses, to hardwood, conifer and palm trees, and even a little poison oak.
