Park closed from dusk-dawn daily.

Overview

This trail is a wonderful little outing for a pre- or post- work hike. It's fast, well-marked, well-traveled, and taken care of. There is plenty of parking next to the picnic areas and public restrooms as well. This park has various other trails running through it for a little extra exploration. Shevlin Park is free to the public and open while the sun is out.

Need to Know

There are three bridged creek crossings on the Shevlin Loop Trail.

Description

Expect to see hikers, runners, and mountain bikers on this trail. There is rarely any congestion and the creek is a great place to cool off at the end of your hike or during one of the three creek crossings. I've noticed that counterclockwise is a bit more popular, but clockwise tends to be a bit faster (for me... I'm not sure why!)

Quite a bit of icy paths and very slippery. Doable but just be careful.

Paths are currently a sheet of ice. Very difficult to traverse without traction assistance.
