A rustic campground is being developed near the park entrance, planned to open in 2021. The city secured grant funding and donations to help transform this area that was an old gravel pit into an outdoor recreation opportunity for the community.

The trail goes from the prairie and into a wooded area, where the terrain is a bit rougher, but still mostly even. There are lots of twists and turns in the trail in the wooded area that aren't all shown in the aerial map. Choose your adventure!

There are several wooden bridges along the trail where Otter Creek passes. When the photo was taken the creek was dry.
