Description

Directions: From the pullout on Highway 24 take the dirt road and proceed uphill. After a few hundred meters, you'll come to a 4-way intersection. Proceed strait and uphill. Right takes you onto private property and city utility; left takes you to Ute Pass Trail and down down to Manitou Springs. After 3 miles, follow signs to Barr Trail. The road does intersect with French Creek Trail #703, but the intersection is very faint; stay on the main trail to proceed on Longs Ranch Road. After the trail crests, the last mile is a rapid decent that dead ends into Barr Trail.

Description: This road is quite a slog, a steep sustained climb with sections of loose gravel; however, the Forest Service keeps it clear of debris. The road is quite isolated and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they are running it as part of a larger link-up...between Barr Trail and Waldo Canyon Trail #640/ Rampart Range Road for example.
