ADA Accessible This trail is a boardwalk all the way except for a small area of sand where it crosses Bruma Road. Therefore it is pretty accessible.

Family Friendly This trail is easy and not incredibly long. Additionally, with the self-guided nature trail, there should be plenty of interesting things for kids.

This trail begins at Robert Moses State Park's Field 5 which often requires a $10 parking fee

Description

This trail is a boardwalk that leads from Field 5 in Robert Moses State Park to the Fire Island Lighthouse in Fire Island National Seashore. The trail is pretty flat and leads eastward the whole way. In addition to the trail itself, there is a self-guided nature trail along the way. Guides for this trail can be purchased at the lighthouse's gift shop.

Flora & Fauna

There is plenty of unique and interesting life to be observed in this barrier island ecosystem.
