This out-and-back trail is nice, but you get noise from the interstate highway at its western edge.

Description

This trail goes through woods and around a small lake. The hiking trail has no arrows or markers but it's easy to follow. There is a parallel/overlapping horse trail. The only downside is noise from nearby I-196.

FARview (not Fairview) was the name of a stop on the interurban electric train line that ran between Holland and Saugatuck from 1899 to 1926. The small building in the parking lot is a refurbished interurban waiting room. When you walk under the power lines in the park you're walking over what was once the Grand Rapids, Holland & Chicago (GRH&C) Railway bed!

Flora & Fauna

Covering 80 acres, this park has several ecosystems – pond wetlands, low dunes, deep woods, and open meadow – and is rich in flora and fauna. There are fish in the pond and deer in the area.
