Description

This trail is one of many in the southern Flat Tops that help create loop hiking potential. Hiking it from north to south, the trail leaves the Turret Creek Trail #1832 and meanders mostly flat among the high meadows that are common in the Flat Tops. You'll get your first scenic view as the trail starts to descend.

The trail goes through large old stands of Aspens, follows a minor ridge line with great views of the valley, then hits well-designed switchbacks through a scrub oak hillside before reconnecting with the Turret Creek Trail.

The trail can be a very sunny trail and depending on the time of the year, can be completely without water resources. Keep that in mind if you decided to hike up the trail from south to north. The trail seems dominated by horse users, but is in mostly moderate conditions.
