The ranger office is only open Monday - Friday during typical business hours. Forms are available outside of the office in the breezeway.

Description

The trail is well-marked and easily followed. It's completely shaded and a pleasant change from the beating sun that is summer in Oklahoma. The trail is pretty close to parking so animals were scarce during the day when we were there. At night, raccoons come out like little bandits, so keep your food stowed appropriately.

Flora & Fauna

The forest is well maintained, at least close to the trails. There are copious patches of poison ivy, so be careful. It was hot and humid when we visited so not many animals were out during the day. We did see a few rabbits and a fawn on the drive to the parking area. At night, raccoons come out in droves.
