Family Friendly This is a short trail that is easily traversed as an out-and-back for the Little Pinnacle. Kids will enjoy the visitor center at the start of the trail.

Description

Starting behind the visitor center, this is a well-marked path that is easily followed. At about 1.6 miles in length, this loop trail provides hikers with two overlooks along the way. When hiking clockwise, the Little Pinnacle is just a short distance along the left-hand path. Further in around the middle point of the trail, hikers will come to the Big Pinnacle. This has a series of steeper stone-and-dirt stairs that ascend to the top of the Big Pinnacle and the second overlook. Continuing on back toward the visitor center, the trail leads through the woods with only slight elevation changes.

Flora & Fauna

There are possibly wild ponies and bears in the area—more likely in the lower areas.

June 3, went with Tammy. First of hopefully many more hikes. Feeling really proud of us for doing it, esp since Tammy has a sore knee. 3mi
