Description

The Lake Shore Trail is considered the most scenic trail in Little Pine State Park, running along the lake into the upper valley of the park.

Using the Little Pine Creek dam as its starting point, the route heads out across to the other side and then turns left. Here, it enters a wooded area along the lakeshore. There's a bit of a climb followed by a descent, taking you to the nesting area of a pair of bald eagles.

Keeping your eyes peeled, continue on to a beautiful valley beyond the lake. You'll arrive at the loop section of the hike here. Either way, there's a climb and descent. As you make your way around, you'll be in a mix of open areas and wooded forest.

Once you've completed the loop, head back toward the dam on rolling terrain that climbs back to the beginning of the hike.
