Description

Winding up to the top of the ridge, this one mile trail climbs a few steep hills before reaching the overlook with picturesque views of Mead's Quarry Lake and glimpses of Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains. The northeastern side of the trail is an easier climb to the overlook and features historic Stanton Cemetery about a quarter mile in where the gravestones date from 1870 to 1939. For those seeking to challenge their hill climbing skills, start at the southwest trailhead.
