Description

The A. Murray Young Path passes through the deep gorge between Dorr Mountain and Cadillac Mountain. The trail starts off mellow, passing through some lovely woods alongside a small stream. (Be sure to pack your bug repellent - especially in the spring!) As you gradually ascend the gorge, the stream becomes smaller and the navigating becomes slightly more intense. Well-crafted stone steps occasionally break up the dirt path.

The end of the trail is the most challenging section. The trail becomes far more rugged as it heads up a series of rough rocks. In Acadia, where so many trails are exquisitely manicured, the A Murray Young Path can seem a bit haggard. (Maybe its trail builders designed it that way - as a friendly reminder of how spoiled you become as you traverse through Acadia.) After scrambling up the rocks the trail ends at the intersection of the Gorge Path and the Cadillac-Dorr Connector.
