Features Lake

Family Friendly A good choice for families with small children due to length and ease.

No facilities exist along the trail or at the ponds.

When camping, please set up campsite at least 200 feet from the ponds.

Description

The trail climbs gently through dense aspen stands. This is an excellent outing, especially in the fall season due to the beautiful foliage. Fishing the ponds is considered fair to good.

Once on the trail, you cross into the West Elk Wilderness Area where Wilderness Regulations apply.

I am not an experienced hiker so the beginning of the climb was daunting. The beautiful colors made it worth the climb. 0.7mi — 1h 30m
