Ben's Trail connects the upper campground to the main campground and fishing pier. This short trail follows the ridgeline down to the lake level through wonderful forest and fauna.
Need to Know
The first .25 mile of this trail is from the upper parking lot to the confluence of the Tucker Lake trail. This first part is not part of the circle around the lake but connects this to the parking lot. If hiking around the lake you'll return to this location and finish up to the parking lot on this short section.
Description
The trailhead can be found at the upper campground next to the restrooms, where a large map and signage sit just off the parking lot at the confluence of several trails. This trail goes to the left of the sign and continues for about 0.25 miles, where another trail continues to the right. Stay left and switchback down the side of the hill to continue this trail another 0.55 miles to the main parking lot at the lake, where you'll find boat launches, fishing docks, and day-use picnic tables. This trail ends at the paved road there.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of sign of bobcat and cayote. Many birds and waterfowl on the lake.
