Description
A short but steep and rocky route. The path is rugged and somewhat bouldery near the summit, with loose stones and uneven footing in sections. It offers broad ocean views as you gain elevation, especially near the top, where the terrain opens up and the summit provides sweeping vistas of the Pacific coastline and the surrounding desert hills. From the summit of Cerro Punta Lobos (667'), descend back down the rocky slope to rejoin the fire road, which curves gently along the ridge. Follow this wide, dusty track as it gradually descends toward the coast, offering views of the cliffs and surf below. The fire road reconnects with the main recreation trail, completing a scenic loop that combines a short, steep summit climb with an easier coastal return.
Flora & Fauna
Pelicans and Frigatebirds with their signature forked tails can be seen soaring above. Sealions can be heard below.
