Family Friendly Option of short level or easy uphill. Local history.

Description

This is a very pleasant hike from SE Southworth up to Harper Hill Rd SE through Harper Park. Level gravel from the parking lot for the first quarter mile, then the trail heads uphill to the right just past the bench, with a little loop at the top. The gravel trail extends another 1/4 mile or so to a viewpoint of the old clay pit, and a (muddy in wet weather) short loop trail. This park is the site of an old clay quarry and brick factory (1885). Also, access to the inlet and wetlands.

Flora & Fauna

Mix of deciduous and coniferous forest.
