Description
The beginning of this trail is somewhat hidden off the side of Green Dolphin Street. It winds around in the trees to a bench with access to the street. Though you can see a bridge on the dirt path to the south, it is best to use Green Dolphin Street for about 500 feet to reach the entrance to Coolgreen Park because there is a locked gate on the other side of the bridge.
Entering Coolgreen Park through the chicane, the trail continues on heavily decomposed asphalt to reach a low-level bridge over an oxbow pond. The trail continues under wooded shade to end at Strickland Park through a small gap in a low fence. This entrance to the trail is also not well-marked and difficult to find.
There is a higher-level bypass, the
Coolgreen High Road, that can be useful after heavy rains.
The trail is maintained by regular mowing and consists of grass, dirt, decayed asphalt, and some new concrete sections.
