Need to Know

The Provincial Park has entry fees for motorized vehicles. Some years these fees are waived, check the Manitoba Parks website for details.

Description

This is a looped trail that is signed counterclockwise with a parking lot at the trailhead. The start and end of the loop is in parkland with trees interspersed with open areas, the tree density increases farther from the trailhead. The trail descends into a cedar bog part parts of which remain wet throughout the year. The far end of the trail is covered by a raised boardwalk (no guard rails) over the bog. Portions of the trail before and after the boardwalk can be muddy, especially after the spring melt or after rainfall.

The trail has a short cut option that bypasses the bog and boardwalk and cuts of approximately one third of the loop. The Park's website has a interpretative self-guiding trail map available with stops noted by numbered signs along the trail.
